The client
ABF The Soldiers’ Charity is the Army’s national charity, supporting soldiers and their families for life. They award grants and fund leading support organisations, so that all serving soldiers, veterans and their immediate families have the opportunity to avoid hardship and enjoy independence and dignity.
The brief
ABF The Soldiers’ Charity asked Puzzler to supply the code challenges for two ‘missions’ in their long-running Operation Bletchley codebreaking fundraising event. The challenges needed to be set at three levels of difficulty so that everyone could participate. Due to the nature of the event and the links to Bletchley, it was important that the levels of complexity and originality were high.
Puzzler’s solution
We delivered a set of fresh code challenges for the winter 2022 Operation Bletchley event, in which 1,500 participants raised over £40,000 for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity. We used our extensive knowledge of puzzles and cyphers to produce original material for the fundraiser, voted ‘The most innovative event in the UK’.
