Stars

Stars (aka Doppelstern and Star Battle) is a pure logic puzzle. We present the solver with a grid of squares, divided into irregular shapes. The solver’s challenge is to place stars into the grid so that each row, each column and each shape contains two stars. Stars cannot sit in adjacent squares, not even diagonally.

From an easy 6×6 puzzle, Stars can be created at increasing levels of difficulty, with larger puzzles generally being harder to solve. Despite its name, the puzzle can be created using any symbol that might suit the publication.
