Totalize / Countdown

Totalize (aka Countdown) is a pure mathematical challenge. The solver is a given a number and a series of calculations to perform in sequence, to arrive at the answer. Often, the challenge will feature three separate calculations, at increasing levels of difficulty.

We can pitch Totalize towards a younger audience by limiting the use of harder operations (square root, more complex fractions, percentages etc), and the size of the numbers involved at any stage. Puzzles for adults will involve larger numbers and harder operations.
