Split Words

To compile a Split Words (aka Splits and Jumble Words), we take a set of words, often on a theme, and split them into letter groups – usually of two or three letters, but also single letters for short words. The solver’s challenge is to piece the letter groups together to identify the words.

Split Words is a popular puzzle for children’s publications, supporting vocabulary knowledge and spelling. However, the puzzle can be made as difficult as the words chosen and prove a real brainteaser.
